Well hello everyone here it is another Wednesday is here again well it's the end of July and in our house hold that means it's my son's birthday and he's counting down the days. Yes my baby is turning 9 on Friday where have those years gone it only feels like yesterday he was born and I was changing and feeding him. No party this year just a few of his friends and the family going to the movies and having a meal out.

We have another wonderful week in store for you and Design Team have made some amazing cards. I wonder sometimes where all their creative juices come from???

Congratulations " It A Boy" Sweet Sketch Wednesday Sketch # 59

Congratulations "It a Boy!!!"
Good morning and here it is another Wednesday already and we are nearly at the end of July already. Well we are all back to reality in our household the school break is over the boys are back to school and they are into their normal routines, sports and of course homework. Guess who has come down with the flu and not feeling 100% this week yes me!!!
I've had a few questions from some of my Blogger's and Followers how I make my cards with a 3 D effect apart from the usual ways eg, Ribbons, Brads, Buttons, Charms and Flowers just to name a few. I'm finding there are more people that like a tactile feel to cards especially children and older people. Sometimes I use Glass Coat to coat images with if I want shine I use 1 coat if I want thickness I can use up to 6 coats. This really stands out but you do have to be very patient which I'm not sometimes LOL and wait for it to dry between layers. The photo that I have taken above shows how I used a frame to frame my image instead of putting layering behind the image.
  • Firstly I cut the Frame using Nestabilities Oval Scalloped edge and a smaller Classic Oval for the centre to cut out by.
  • I also cut Chip Board and my paper all at the same time through my Cuttlebug so that they were an exact fit on top of each other.
  • I glued the coloured paper to the Chip Board and coloured the edges with either the same colour of the paper with a Copic marker or a grey Copic depending what colour you a using and what colour Copics you have.
  • I cut my image using the same size Classic Oval as to which Scalloped Edge Oval I used. Then you don't see the edges of your image.
  • The frame was then mounted to my image using either Pop Dots, Ezy Dots or Squares or Double Sided Foam Tape depending what you have. I do cut the Pop Dots in half because you don't need the whole size dot. I've tried to take a photo so that you can see them.

I do hope this answers all those questions and helps.

This week we have another wonderful Sketch #59 by our very own talented Arlana, she is amazing with what she creates.

Congratulations it Twins

Twins Congratulations
Good morning this is a very quick posting today and we have just got back from the mountains where we were skiing. So whilst my boys were sleeping at night I coloured images and made cards. Before I left I had decided what cards I was making so I download images, inked images, cut all the papers, boards, ribbons and also cut my images using my cuttlebug. So all I had to do was colour and create. So I had to post this straight away before these challenges closed.
I am entering this card into two challenges this week. Penny Black Week 109 which is a sketch week and here is the sketch which is really lovely. The other challenge is ABC and this fortnight the Challenge is Y is for You & Me. Here is my take on this wonderful sketch and as this card is for You & Me Twins couldn't be any closer. I've also made a double bow because of being twins and have put double cream satin hearts for the two of them and I cut the Fancy Tag twice in White and Peach and over laid it. I cut the Oval Frame out of Peach Paper and also chip board and mounted it on pop dots to stand out like a photo frame. I love the colour Peach for a set of Twins as there is a boy and girl.
Card Recipe
Card Base: White SU card stock.
Papers: Peach, Peach & White Stripes and Peach & White Gingham.
Image: Penny Black Stamp from Hugs!
Colour Medium: Copic Markers
Sentiment: PC generated Papyrus Font.
Embellishments: Double bow ribbon for twins, double stain hearts.
Tools: Cuttlebug Nestabilities, Scalloped Oval, Classic Oval, Double Fancy Tags, Foam Pop Dots and a lace cutter but can't remember what the brand is.
I do hope everyone has a great weekend and thanks for dropping by.
